Kroger’s, H-E-B Expanding DFW Footprint

Kroger Co. is building four new stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, spending about $40 million per store, for a total of about $160 million. The four stores will be built in Fort Worth (two stores), and one each will be in Little Elm and Anna. The Dallas Business Journal reports all four stores will have about 120,000 square feet under the roof. The four new stores are expected to create about 1,200 regional jobs.

Kroger ranks No. 27 on the Fortune 500, with revenue of about $147 billion and a market capitalization of more than $44 billion.

H-E-B purchased land in Pilot Point, the area’s most northern suburb. Pilot Point is halfway between Dallas and Sherman. The Dallas Business Journal reports the store has not committed to a time frame for constructing a store in Pilot Point…
