A man police say was firing his gun out an open window and assaulting his girlfriend while driving down the highway was killed by a Grand Prairie police officer overnight Saturday.
Grand Prairie Police said Sunday a screaming woman called 911 just before 1 a.m. and told dispatchers her boyfriend was intoxicated, armed with a gun and was assaulting her as they drove down Interstate 30.
Police said the man exited Belt Line Road and stopped in a gas station parking lot, where the woman got out of the vehicle. Police said an officer ran toward the vehicle to protect the woman and, knowing the man inside the car was reported to be armed, ordered him to show his hands…
