‘High-tech hall passes:’ Schools implementing new tech to help keep students safe

DALLAS — In an effort to enhance student safety, Robert T. Hill Junior High in Dallas has introduced a cutting-edge program called ‘Securly,’ which serves as a high-tech hall pass system.

Principal Candice Ruiz emphasized the importance of school safety, stating, “School safety is a priority.”

The ‘Securly’ system assigns students a designated bathroom and sets a timer for their trips. Eighth-grader Isabella Maldonado explained the previous issues, saying, “You would see a lot of people in the hallways, roaming around, making loud noises, and distracting the classrooms.”…
