Man’s body recovered from Alvarado Lake after canoe capsizes

At around 12:00pm on Friday, September 12th, Alvarado Fire and Police, Texas Game Wardens, and CareFlite EMS responded to a drowning at Alvarado Lake.

The owner of a canoe, who lives in the Blue Water Oaks neighborhood, called 9-1-1 to report that he had found his canoe capsized in the water. The canoe had been borrowed the night before.

Emergency responders worked to locate the missing man throughout the day and evening on the 12th. On Saturday morning, Game Wardens located the body of the 48-year-old man who had borrowed the canoe. He has been identified as a resident of Johnson County…
