DALLAS — In his decades-long film career, legendary actor and director Robert Redford devoted some of the last years on the screen to working with North Texas film director David Lowery.
Lowery, who has also directed such acclaimed movies as “Ghost Story” and “The Green Knight,” directed Redford in both “Pete’s Dragon” and “The Old Man & The Gun,” the latter of which he starred in.
“Bob was an inspiration long before I got to know him, but directing him in ‘Pete’s Dragon’ and ‘The Old Man & The Gun’ was the privilege of a lifetime,” Lowery wrote in a statement to WFAA. “One of my happiest memories is driving around downtown Fort Worth with him, filming as many bank robberies as we could in a single day. Given our mutual roots in Texas, it was a real joy to shoot so many of the pivotal scenes for that film so close to home.”…
