IKEA Expands in DFW With This New Location on I-30

Construction on North Texas’s next IKEA began in April 2025, and the project is scheduled to finish in late 2025 or early 2026. The 109,000-square-foot store is rising at the northwest corner of Interstate 30 and Stodghill Road (FM 3549), giving the east side of Dallas–Fort Worth its first IKEA. It will join existing locations in Grand Prairie and Frisco.

A Glimpse into Rockwall’s History

Rockwall, founded in 1854, takes its name from sandstone dikes uncovered by settlers digging wells. Once thought to be man-made, the formation was later confirmed as natural. By the late 1800s, the railroad tied Rockwall to Dallas, boosting its role as a farm and trade center. When Lake Ray Hubbard was completed in 1969, the city’s transformation into a suburban hub accelerated.
