WASHINGTON—The Hillshire Brands Company is recalling approximately 58 million pounds of corn dog and sausage on a stick products due to potential contamination with extraneous material, specifically pieces of wood embedded in the batter, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced over the weekend.
The massive recall covers products packaged between March 17, 2025, and September 26, 2025. The problem was discovered after the Haltom City, Texas, establishment received multiple consumer complaints, five of which involved reported injuries. FSIS has not received any additional reports of injury.
