Millions in Texas Told To Share Rides, Take Lunch to Work

Millions of Texans were urged to take measures to reduce pollution on Tuesday, after the National Weather Service (NWS) published air quality alerts for two major cities in the Lone Star State.

Why It Matters

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says that people most at risk from breathing ozone-contaminated air include those with asthma, children, older adults and people who are active outdoors.

Health problems caused by ozone may include coughing, difficulty breathing, and inflamed and damaged airways, according to the agency.

What To Know

Air quality alerts published by the NWS said the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) had issued an ozone action day for the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Tuesday.
