North Texas elementary student arrested after bringing unloaded gun to school, making threats, police say

ARLINGTON, Texas — A student at McNutt Elementary in Arlington was arrested Monday after bringing an unloaded gun to school and making verbal threats, police said.

According to a news release from the Arlington Police Department, officers responded to the school after staff notified them that they had found an unloaded gun in a student’s backpack. During the investigation, police said officers learned that the student had made verbal threats to others at the school.

Arlington PD said the student was arrested and charged with “terroristic threat and weapon places prohibited.” He was taken to the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center…
