Fort Worth Animal Care & Control Achieves 85.47% Live Release Rate, Marking Major Strides in Animal Welfare

Fort Worth Animal Care & Control (FWACC) is celebrating a year of notable achievements, with its live release rate jumping to an impressive 85.47% for Fiscal Year 2025. According to statistics released by the official Fort Worth City News, this marks a significant increase from the previous year’s 79.77%, showcasing the city’s ongoing commitment to animal welfare.

This progress is particularly evident when comparing month to month. For instance, in February 2024, the live release rate was 79.66%, but February 2025 saw a striking 88.05% of animals leaving the shelter through adoption, transport, rescue, or return to their owners. These robust figures suggest that FWACC’s efforts have led to a greater number of pets either finding new homes or being reunited with their families, consequently, spending less time in the shelter environment.
