HURST, Texas — “Immediate Payment Required,” reads a letter claiming to be from the Hurst Police Department; the actual police say it’s a “ridiculous scam.”
The department posted an alert on its Facebook page warning, “We don’t do things like this.”
The letter circulating in the community says, “Per the directive of the Commander, you are required to pay the outstanding fee of $1,500 immediately,” and warns failure to comply could lead to “further legal action.” Hurst Police ask, “Who the heck is this Commander Guy?!?!”
