An Irving police officer arrested 31-year-old Jorge Barrera of Dallas after a late-night pursuit that ended in his capture and the discovery of methamphetamine and cocaine inside his vehicle.
The incident occurred on October 26 around 10:27 p.m., when an officer on patrol near East State Highway 183 and North Britain Road spotted a silver Cadillac matching a previous Flock camera alert tied to a tool theft investigation. The officer followed the vehicle, pacing it at 73 mph in a 70 mph zone, and attempted a traffic stop using lights and sirens.
Instead of stopping, Barrera fled, leading officers on a chase for several miles before his vehicle became disabled. Barrera then ran from the scene, jumping a barbed-wire fence and crossing a field before officers caught and arrested him…
