The Patriotic Pig, a Texas-based barbecue restaurant “with a mission to give back to veterans and first responders,” is building a new $5 million facility within the city of North Richland Hills — and the $1.4 million worth of land it will be sitting on is set to be provided by the city.
That’s according to an Oct. 16 announcement from North Richland Hills City Hall, which stated that the multimillion-dollar development has been in the works since May.
“Patriotic Pig — a popular and successful NRH business — was being courted by two neighboring cities,” the announcement said. “Recognizing both the risk of losing the business and the opportunity for local growth, the City began discussions about a potential expansion to the Smithfield site.”…
