Cowtown Closet: A free store giving Fort Worth’s clothes a second chance

FORT WORTH, Texas — Hanging on the walls inside Fort Worth’s Community Collaborative is more than fabric — it’s a story of resilience, community, and hope.

Behind the racks of donated clothes is Dorie Kirk, who runs Cowtown Closet, a free clothing store where everything comes without a price tag — literally. The store, operated by the non-profit, Fort Worth Community Collaborative, shows displays of clothing sorted, hung, and packed by Kirk and volunteers who believe in giving new life — not only to clothes but to people, too.
