The Arlington Public Library will hold several events in November for Native American Heritage Month. The month has been officially recognized since 1990. It highlights the history, culture, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples in the United States. The library’s events will focus on both historical and current topics related to Native American communities.
The first event is a talk titled ‘Why You Can’t Understand Texas History without Native Americans.’ Dr. Paul Conrad, a history professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, will present it. The event is scheduled for November 12, 2025, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. The talk will cover the role of Indigenous peoples in Texas history from pre-colonial times to today.
