IRVING, Texas – A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon in a violent road-rage crash that shut down westbound LBJ Freeway for several hours, according to the Irving Police Department.
First responders from Irving Police, Fire, and EMS were called to the scene around 4:55 p.m. on December 6 after reports of a major crash near the SH 161 exit on I-635. Investigators say the motorcyclist, identified as Ryan Chilton Sample, was riding westbound when he became involved in a road-rage incident with another vehicle.
Police say the driver of that vehicle, described only as “Vehicle 3”, made a maneuver that forced Sample’s motorcycle into the back of an SUV (labeled as “Vehicle 2” in the police report). Emergency crews attempted lifesaving measures, but Sample died at the scene.
