JOHNSON COUNTY, Texas — A charge of perjury filed against Johnson County Sheriff Adam King in an ongoing criminal case has been dropped, records show, as he still faces multiple other charges.
King was indicted for perjury in October, two months after three other charges were levied against him: two counts of retaliation against a witness and one count of abuse of office related to sexual harassment.
Records show the presiding judge accepted a motion to quash the charge of perjury on Thursday. The basis for this request came from, according to the order filed by King’s attorney, “said indictment having been secured illegally.”…
