For two years straight, a North Texas city’s population has grown faster than the state’s capital. But now Austin has beaten Fort Worth to become the fourth-most-populous city in the Lone Star State once again.
Last year’s U.S. Census Bureau data estimated that Fort Worth overtook Austin in population by surpassing over 1 million residents faster than the capital city. However, Austin reclaimed its No. 4 spot for state growth in Texas’ newly revised vintage population estimates.
