On January 9, 2026, at approximately 8 pm, officers responded to the 1400 block of N Highway 67 regarding a major disturbance involving two vehicles. The caller reported that someone had shot at his vehicle and provided a description of the vehicle.
Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the highway. While conducting a high-risk stop on the car, a female exited the passenger side and was shot by the driver. The male driver exited the vehicle with a firearm. Two officers fired their weapons, striking the male.
Officers rendered aid to both subjects until paramedics arrived. EMS transported the male to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The female was pronounced deceased on the scene…
