FORT WORTH, Texas – A 47-year-old man was shot and killed early Monday morning after a confrontation with a homeowner who reported the man was attempting to break into a garage on the city’s east side, according to police.
Officers with the Fort Worth Police Department were dispatched around 6:00 a.m. on January 12, 2026, to the 3400 block of Avenue L. When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the sidewalk with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso. Despite medical intervention, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
