FORT WORTH, Texas — Newly obtained court documents reveal how Fort Worth police say a string of vehicle arsons and online threats against local schools were part of a broader plan tied to an extremist group.
According to an arrest warrant, 17-year-old Evan Banda admitted to joining the group just weeks before a series of fires on Fort Worth’s south side. Investigators say Banda carried out five vehicle arsons in his neighborhood, later telling police he did so out of fear he would be doxxed if he did not comply.
