Parts of North Texas received 5 inches of sleet and snow, National Weather Service says

Parts of North Texas received more than 5 inches of sleet and snow over the weekend, the National Weather Service says.

In the winter storm that brought near-record low temperatures, ice, sleet, and snow to Dallas-Fort Worth, the National Weather Service measured 5.5 inches of sleet and snow in Celina and 5 inches in the Grayson County city of Sadler.

The highest measured total in Dallas or Tarrant counties came at DFW Airport, where 2.4 inches of sleet and snow accumulated.

Ice totals were higher to the east of Dallas-Fort Worth. Paris, in Lamar County, measured 0.25 inches, with 0.2 inches in Denison, and 0.18 inches in Navarro County…
