Morning Blaze Singes New Blue Goose Cantina In North Richland Hills

Tex-Mex fans in North Richland Hills woke up to bad news yesterday after an early-morning fire damaged the brand-new Blue Goose Cantina on North Tarrant Parkway, forcing a temporary shutdown just days after its debut. Crews knocked the blaze down quickly, nobody was hurt, and officials say the cause is still under investigation.

Fire Department Response

According to the Fort Worth Star‑Telegram, the North Richland Hills Fire Department said on Facebook that crews were dispatched to the restaurant around 7:25 a.m. Saturday. Fire department spokesperson Will McAfee told the paper the fire was contained to a small area inside the building and that overall damage was minimal.

Brand‑New Outpost

Blue Goose Cantina recently opened its North Richland Hills outpost at 9005 N. Tarrant Parkway, part of the chain’s expansion across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The roughly 5,400‑square‑foot spot includes a climate-controlled patio, a wood-fired grill, and an on‑site tortilla factory, with the company highlighting its made‑from‑scratch tortillas and popular margaritas.

CultureMap Fort Worth reported that the restaurant opened Jan. 21 and seats about 250 guests.

Closure and Next Steps

Staff announced on social media that the North Richland Hills location would be temporarily closed following the early‑morning fire, as reported by the Fort Worth Star‑Telegram. City and fire investigators are reviewing the scene, and the chain has not yet shared a timeline for reopening.

Customers with reservations or catering plans at the restaurant are being urged to monitor the company’s official channels for the latest updates on when the grills and tortilla presses will fire back up…
