North Arlington begins construction on new police substation and evidence storage facility

ARLINGTON, Texas — Construction has commenced on North Arlington’s first police substation, a multi-purpose facility that will include a new crime lab, evidence storage, and Code Compliance offices.

Arlington voters approved funding for the $29.3 million facility, set to open at 1715 E. Lamar Boulevard in spring 2027, during the 2018 and 2023 bond elections. The city acquired the 4.3-acre property in 2021 and began renovating the 40,000-square-foot empty commercial building on the site in November 2025, according to a press release from the Office of Communication.

The new facility will provide additional office and operational space for the city’s police and Code Compliance officers.
