TCC’s last original faculty member retires after nearly six decades of teaching

Tarrant County College is marking the end of an era as its last remaining original faculty member retires after nearly 60 years of teaching.

History professor Larry Story delivered his final lecture during a retirement luncheon in January at TCC South, the only campus he has taught at during his entire career. He is considered the longest-serving professor in the state.

Story joined what was then Tarrant County Junior College in 1967, shortly after graduating from his master’s program. Enrollment at the college at the time was rapidly increasing as demand for local higher education grew…
