A late-night solo crash on State Highway 360 in Arlington has turned deadly, with a 39-year-old man dying yesterday, three days after his car hit a concrete median, police said.
Officers found the man’s vehicle late Sunday night in the southbound lanes of SH 360 north of Interstate 20. He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition and died days later from his injuries, according to authorities.
Crash details from investigators
Police were called around 11:46 p.m. for reports of a single-vehicle wreck in the southbound lanes of Highway 360 just north of I-20. Investigators say the driver of a 2010 Toyota Corolla lost control and struck the concrete median twice before coming to a stop, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Emergency crews took the man to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
What the police say about contributing factors
Arlington police said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and that evidence found inside the car means investigators have not ruled out alcohol as a factor, as reported by The Dallas Morning News. Authorities have not released his name, pending review by the medical examiner. Detectives are still collecting evidence and analyzing the scene.
