The number of abandoned animals across the country keeps growing, placing many dogs in risky situations created by neglectful and irresponsible owners.

One especially heartbreaking case unfolded in Crowley, Texas, where a full litter of puppies was left behind in an open field on a brutally hot day. Trapped inside a carrier without any water, the tiny pups were nearing collapse from the intense heat and dehydration.

Thankfully, someone passing by spotted the carrier and quickly contacted the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, setting a rescue into motion.
