Pizza Verde, the popular plant-based pizzeria on Fort Worth’s west side, sat dark on Valentine’s Day after a fire broke out on the restaurant’s roof last Friday night. Employees and diners were evacuated, no injuries were reported, and what is typically one of the shop’s busiest nights was wiped off the calendar.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Fort Worth Fire Department crews were called to Pizza Verde at 5716 Locke Ave. shortly before 8 p.m., responding to flames that had reached the roof. The restaurant’s owners said on Facebook that the cause of the blaze is still unknown.
