Local barbecue fans still licking their wounds after the recent closure of Heim BBQ’s Magnolia Avenue location can dry those tears: Heim Pig Stand, the brand’s new food truck concept, begins service on the far west side March 4, the restaurant announced on social media this week.
The truck will operate 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday-Friday at 9912 Camp Bowie W. Blvd., on Westland property owned by Heim co-owner Will Churchill, who also leases the land to the television series “Landman.” Churchill revealed to Fort Worth Magazine last month the truck’s opening date but other details were still being finalized.
Located next door to the Patch Cafe, the Pig Stand will sit squarely in “Landman” territory, operating from the Westland property that sometimes serves as a hub for the television production. With film trucks and crew activity regularly cycling through the area, the truck could find itself with a ready-made audience – and maybe its own close-up…
