STORM UPDATE: Cloud cover could make-or-break severe weather today

Another day, another chance at severe weather. Yesterday while most of us appreciated the mist and drizzle, it left us wanting a bit more rain. The front stalled out in the eastern part of the big country and the Heartland causing temperatures to rise into the 70’s and 80’s by the evening. They saw a bit of clearing that allowed for storms to develop causing one severe storm in Mills County. This storm eventually pushed into Comanche county and pushed out of the area causing a bit more damage into the DFW area.

Today (March 5th), we see another chance at severe weather depending on if we can shed the clouds fast enough to get in some daytime heating. Our storm potential is showing confidence in scattered storms popping up off the dry line in the western part of the big country. The threat for storms to develop decreases for our central areas with only isolated chances for storms to occur.
