Juvenile Collared After Shocking Stabbing Inside Burleson Library

Last Friday at the Burleson Public Library, it took a frightening turn when a woman was stabbed inside the building, and a juvenile was taken into custody at the scene, according to police. The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated on-site while staff and officers moved quickly to keep everyone else out of harm’s way.

Officers responded to a report of a person with a weapon and arrived to find the injured woman and a juvenile suspect, who was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police then swept the library to make sure the building was safe, as reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

City officials told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that library staff “acted quickly and courageously to help keep patrons safe” and that officers “arrived promptly to secure the juvenile and ensure the building was safe.” The statement praised staff and confirmed there was no ongoing threat to visitors once the suspect was detained and the building was checked.
