Pre-Dawn Gunfire Rocks East Fort Worth As Five Are Detained In Fatal Shooting

An early-morning burst of gunfire in east Fort Worth left one person dead today and five others detained as police scrambled to track a suspect vehicle.

Officers were called around 2:09 a.m. to the 2000 block of East Long Avenue, where they found a person who had been fatally shot, according to Fort Worth police. Witnesses at the scene gave officers a description of a vehicle connected to the shooting, and a short time later, police located a car with five people inside and detained everyone in it.

Investigators have not said whether any of the five will ultimately be arrested or charged. Police said they are still working to confirm exactly what role, if any, each person in the vehicle may have played…
