Arlington woman allegedly shot and killed by grandson over allowance identified

The 68-year-old Arlington woman who was allegedly shot and killed by her grandson Friday has been identified.

Rita Marie Jackson was found dead from gunshot wounds on the patio of her northeast Arlington apartment. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled her death a homicide.

Detectives learned that the victim and her 21-year-old grandson, Rontrell Jackson, had recently gotten into an argument which led to Rontrell Jackson losing his allowance, Arlington police said.
