The Dallas-based retailer is shuttering its online and brick-and-mortar operations
DALLAS — It’s always a sad day when venerable furniture retailers announce they’re going out of business, particularly when it is one that has been operating for decades. Texas-based Weir’s Furniture announced earlier this week that it will be closing after 78 years in business.
An announcement from Weir’s explained that the retailer decided to close “after exploring all reasonable alternatives and careful evaluation of its long-term financial position, difficult market conditions and operational challenges.” The board “determined that the company cannot continue operating sustainably.”…
