South Freeway Horror: Fort Worth Cops Hunt Hit-and-Run Driver

On a quiet stretch of South Freeway frontage road yesterday, a pedestrian was left unconscious after a hit-and-run crash that Fort Worth police say the driver did not even stop to check on.

The collision happened around 1:45 a.m. near East Felix Street and the southbound South Freeway service road. According to investigators, the driver took off without rendering aid, and now detectives are asking the public to help fill in the blanks.

Police Post Video, Ask Public to Help Spot the Car

Fort Worth Police shared a short video on Facebook and are urging anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage from the area to come forward. The department described the car that hit the pedestrian as a white sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry or Chevrolet Malibu, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.

Traffic Investigators Take the Lead

The case is now in the hands of the department’s Traffic Investigations Unit, which will canvass the area for cameras and potential witnesses. Traffic is listed as a core responsibility for the unit, including accident investigations and failure-to-stop cases, per the Fort Worth Police Department.
