Corn or flour? H-E-B bakes up $500K in renovations at Texas tortillerias

Your favorite grocery store tortillas are about to get some TLC.

Whether you prefer corn or flour, butter or not, H-E-B’s tortillas are a mainstay for Texans. Now, the beloved San Antonio-based grocer is investing nearly half a million dollars into a major revamp of its tortilla factories at two North Texas stores. H-E-B filed two separate projects with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Wednesday, April 1, for tortilla room remodels at stores in Fort Worth and Plano.

The Fort Worth project, with an estimated cost just shy of $365,000, is based at H-E-B’s store located at 3451 Heritage Trace Pkwy., Fort Worth, TX 76177. Officials are expected to begin construction in early August and complete work in mid-September, based on current timelines.
