Police identify 16-year-old shot and killed by another teen boy in ‘tragic accident,’ Fort Worth police say

FORT WORTH, Texas — A 16-year-old boy is in custody after fatally shooting another 16-year-old boy in the chest on Sunday evening, in what Fort Worth police are calling a “tragic accident.”

According to Fort Worth Police Department Public Information Officer Tracy Carter, officers were called at about 5:17 p.m. to an apartment complex where officers found the victim with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is still ongoing, but police say the two teens were inside the apartment when one of them accidentally fired a gun, striking the other in the chest…
