DEA investigation leads to 11-year sentence for Burleson man tied to fentanyl distribution network

SHERMAN, Texas — A Burleson man has been sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison for his role in a fentanyl trafficking conspiracy, federal officials announced.

Zachary Don Mathis, 32, pled guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl. He was sentenced to 135 months in prison on April 14, 2026, by U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant III, according to U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.
