How Downtown Fort Worth Became a Magnet for Dual Art Festivals

If someone were dropped into downtown Fort Worth this weekend blindfolded, there’s a good chance they wouldn’t make it five feet without running into an artist or vendor stand of some kind.

Not to say the streets are void of creative talent on any given day, but this Thursday through Sunday, April 16-19, downtown Fort Worth will be flooded with food, music, and framed works across all mediums thanks to two far-reaching art festivals unfolding across Main Street and Sundance Square Plaza.

And despite their close proximity, the Main Street Arts Festival and Fort Worth Art Fair are completely separate events, each drawing artists from across the city, state, and nation into the downtown core this week for their own distinctive reasons…
