FORT WORTH, Texas — One of the two Michelin-recommended restaurants in Fort Worth is opening a new concept near its original location.
Birrieria Y Taqueria Cortez, the Michelin-recommended restaurant that focuses on one dish and does it well — Birrieria — will expand with a new concept called Mariscos Cortez, which will focus on seafood, according to an announcement on its Instagram account.
The Fort Worth restaurant was recognized by Michelin in 2024 and 2025, but found success far before that, serving thousands of people every weekend with its simple menu. Chef and founder Rogelio Cortez started the business from humble origins.
