Rain, thunderstorms barrel toward parts of Texas today – here’s where

Rain is heading to Texas. Several cities, from San Antonio to Dallas, will see heavy rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday, April 21.

It will be safest to grab a sweater and an umbrella before heading out the door. The National Weather Service’s (NWS) latest forecasts show what residents can expect over the next few hours.

As a result of yesterday’s downpours, meteorologists say flash flooding is possible this morning. The agency warned at 2:52 p.m. on Monday, April 20, that the area was a level two out of four risk. This means it could see two to four inches of rain by this morning. The threat is higher over the Hill Country, I-35 corridor, and Coastal Plains, per the NWS.

Showers and a thunderstorm could occur around 10 a.m. Wind gusts might reach up to 20 mph. As of the latest update, there is an 80 percent chance of precipitation. The temperature will remain cool with a low of 60 degrees, so bring a jacket if deemed necessary…
