FORT WORTH (KFDX/KJTL) — The appeal of the man convicted of Saint Jo’s first murder since 1986 was submitted to the Second Court of Appeals on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, following oral arguments.
In May 2025, Gregory Aaron Bell, 59, of Saint Jo, was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison for causing the death of Tia Hutson, 50, after she was found beaten inside her home in Saint Jo in August 2022 and died six days later.
Bell appealed the conviction and sentence and is currently incarcerated at the McConnell Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Beeville, awaiting the outcome of his appellate case…
