Manhunt ends in Fort Worth after PD CRU member hurt in shooting

A person is in custody after a member of the Fort Worth Police Civilian Response Unit was injured in a shooting on Tuesday while responding to a call about a burglary.

According to Fort Worth Chief of Police Eddie Garcia, a man fired on a member of the CRU with a rifle after he arrived at a home on the 3500 block of North Juliet Lane at about 11:45 a.m. to take a report about a burglary.

Garcia said the CRU member radioed for assistance and backup police officers soon arrived. The responding police officers were also met with gunfire. They returned fire, and the armed man ran from the area…
