Phones Go Silent As Landline Meltdown Hits Irving City Offices

Landline phones went quiet across Irving city offices yesterday after a system-wide outage with the municipal phone provider knocked out service at multiple facilities, leaving staff to lean on the city website while technicians work behind the scenes.

In a Facebook post, the city said the outage affects landline phones at city facilities and is “a system-wide outage with the provider.” According to the City of Irving, city staff are working to restore phone service and residents are being asked to use alternate contact methods until the lines are back up.
