FORT WORTH, Texas — A Tarrant County jury has found a 30-year-old Arlington man guilty of assaulting a family member by impeding breath or circulation and sentenced him to 15 years in prison, according to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office.
Tanner James Alphin was convicted under Texas Penal Code § 22.01, which involves intentionally or recklessly restricting a victim’s breathing or circulation by applying pressure to the throat or neck or blocking the nose or mouth.
