California grocery giant Trader Joe’s is planning another location in Texas. According to a permit filed May 1 with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, plans for the next location are underway in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The upcoming store will be at 3020 Matlock Rd. in Mansfield, about half an hour away from downtown Dallas/Fort Worth. The address puts the Trader Joe’s right next to a Chick-fil-A and less than half a mile from a Sprouts Farmers Market. According to the permit, the estimated cost of the renovation/alteration is around $900,000. The build out of the 12,505-square-foot grocery store is expected to start at the beginning of December and be completed by March 2027.
Before Trader Joe’s had filed the permit, the City of Mansfield revealed the news about the upcoming location on April 1. “We know this has been high on the community wish list for a while, and we’re excited to finally share the news,” Mansfield officials said on Instagram. “While we’re not spilling all the details just yet, this is one we’ve been looking forward to right along with you.”
