Texas High School QB Ruled Ineligible After Shocking Podcast Admission

Texas high school football lost one of its biggest storylines before the 2026 season even began. Bryson Kennedy has been ruled ineligible to play for Duncanville High School this season.

The ruling came after Kennedy and his family moved from Arkansas to the Dallas area earlier this year. Officials from the University Interscholastic League decided the move was related to football, which goes against Texas high school transfer rules.

Kennedy became well known nationally as one of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2029. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound quarterback started every varsity game as a freshman at Little Rock Central High School. He has already received scholarship offers from schools like the University of Miami, University of Oklahoma, and Auburn University.
