“Treasures of the Pharaohs” to Visit the Kimbell Art Museum in 2027

The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth has announced its major exhibition for 2027. Treasures of the Pharaohs will present 130 artifacts from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and the Luxor Museum, tracing 3,000 years of ancient Egyptian history through the lives of its kingly leaders.

In a press release, Eric M. Lee, Kimbell Director, said, “Treasures of the Pharaohs will awe. From the scale and splendor of some of the artifacts on view, to the revelations about day-to-day life — and inclusion of objects from one of the most recently excavated sites in Egypt — visitors will find this exhibition brilliant, both visually and intellectually.”

The Kimbell is one of five international institutions organizing the touring exhibition, and will be one of two U.S. museums to present the show, on view from Sunday, March 14, 2027, through Sunday, September 19, 2027. The exhibition will begin its tour at the de Young Museum in San Francisco, where it will be open from Saturday, August 1, through Sunday, January 31, 2027.
