Bystanders rescue driver from burning vehicle after crash in Fairfax County, 2 others killed

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — Two people are dead and one person was injured after a vehicle crashed and caught fire on Interstate 95 early Sunday morning, according to police.

Virginia State Police said the deadly crash took place just after 2:15 a.m. on I-95 north at the exit to the Fairfax County Parkway.

An initial investigation found that the vehicle was speeding when it left the road and struck about 75 feet of guardrail before crashing into a tree, according to state police. The vehicle then went 50 feet down an embankment and caught fire.
