Will Jawando continued to lead in the Democratic primary contest for Montgomery County executive with all 257 precincts reporting as of about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, unofficial results from the Maryland State Board of Elections show.
Jawando, an at-large member of the County Council, was in the lead with 40.8% of the vote. Behind Jawando is District 1 Councilmember Andrew Friedson with 33.5%. Councilmember At-large Evan Glass was third with about 21.6% of the vote. In addition to ballots cast in person on Election Day, the results included ballots cast during the early voting period and some mail-in ballots.
Just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, Jawando took the stage at Silver Spring’s Citizens and Culture to the tune of “Alright” by Kendrick Lamar.
